The historic Old Course, St Andrews
The 150th Open will be the 30th time that St Andrews has hosted the world’s oldest major. It most recently staged the tournament in 2015, when Zach Johnson was crowned “Champion Golfer of the Year”. It has produced an illustrious list of winners over the years, including Bobby Jones (1927), Jack Nicklaus (1970 & 1978), Seve Ballesteros (1984), Nick Faldo (1990) and Tiger Woods (2000 & 2005).
The Old Course is unique in that it owes very little to mankind in its design and layout, thanks to a stunning natural setting, a ready-made landscape of legendary beauty and suitability. Created by nature and only touched by humans in the later stages of her evolution, the Old Lady serves as a masterclass to any would-be golf course designer.

The Open Championship - what makes it so special?
Every golf major has its own identity, but none is stronger than the oldest of them all, The Open, which presents players and spectators alike with dramatically different venues and styles of golf. The famed British weather can change the complexion of a tournament from day to day, morning to afternoon and even hole to hole. It calls on great golf professionals to adapt and be creative with different parts of their games. Champions need to be at the peak of their game to tame these links courses and hold the famous claret jug aloft.
However long you want your vacation package to last, you are sure to find a package among our selection of 150th Open Experiences.
