The Castle Course sits on a rugged cliff top and delivers spectacular views across the North Sea, Angus coast and spectacular Grampian mountain range. And it delivers an exceptional golfing experience. If you're up for a tricky challenge, it's perfect - Today’s Golfer magazine nominated the 17th hole Britain's most spectacular par 3.
Located just two miles along the east coast from St Andrews' town centre, this extraordinarily scenic course is creating a great deal of excitement within the UK golf fraternity. The Castle Course Clubhouse is also well worth a visit, almost as popular as the course itself, with yet more stunning views.

Featured hole – Hole 17
The par 3 17th hole, known as Braes, is unique, set high on a cliff edge and played over a rocky cave in the Kinkell Braes. It's a good move to play toward the bunker, heading well left of the green, since otherwise your ball will probably run right down into the abyss. It's brilliant, challenging and fiendishly tough, with spectacular views of St Andrews old town your consolation prize.
Known for a memorable closing stretch
The closing stretch of holes at the Castle Course is already a legend in its own right. There's a monster of a 15th hole 585 yards long. The 16th covers 406 yards alongside the beautiful coastline. The 17th is 184 yards of sheer pleasure-terror, and the 18th is equally dramatic. Together they create what's fast becoming the most memorable four-hole closing stretch in the whole of Scotland, quite an accolade in a country that offers high golfing drama at every turn.
