The Courses

There are thousands of golf courses across the UK, but none quite compare to the Old Course at St Andrew’s – sitting on Scotland’s east coast, in the Kingdom of Fife between the historic cities of Dundee and Edinburgh, this oldest and most legendary of links courses has been the home of golf for over six centuries.

The town of St Andrews alone houses some 12 golf courses, making it the perfect destination for a golfing getaway. Our luxury golf vacations go beyond the ‘Auld Grey Toun’ though, and give you the chance to play a round on the Old Course, as well as on some of the nearby championship courses in Scotland, England and Ireland.

Golf courses in Scotland

A round on the Old Course is undoubtedly the high point of our luxury golf vacations, but with such a vast array of challenging, championship standard courses in the immediate area, why stop at just one?

Golf courses in St Andrews

The history of St Andrews and the game of golf are inextricably linked – the first coining of the word ‘golf’ came in a 1460 poem by Sir Gilbert Hay, one of the first students to attend the town’s university, and in 1754, the Society of St Andrews Golfers was formed. This group would eventually become the Royal and Ancient, which is golf's governing body the world over, apart from in the USA and Mexico.
